Botanical skincare powered by science
We develop and produce every formula in our own laboratory in Poland — from the initial concept to the finished product. We combine advanced botanical ingredients with modern skin science and confirm efficacy through studies that measure real changes in the skin.
I studied law in London and Poznań and worked at law firms. My career path seemed set. Yet I was fascinated by an entirely different world: active ingredients, botanical extracts and advances at the intersection of medicine and skin science.
It was in London that I began to understand how the beauty industry worked. I spoke with experts and brand founders. While still at university, I earned extra money selling beauty products. At 24, I founded a company and secured exclusive distribution rights in Poland for a French dermocosmetics brand. This gave me an insider’s view of the market — its retail buyers, retail chains and the rules that governed it.
The better I understood the beauty industry, the more clearly I saw what I would do differently. I wanted control over the ingredients, the process and the quality of the finished formula. So I began reinvesting the profits from the business in building my own laboratory.
It was not an obvious choice, and it remains a demanding one. But it gave me the independence I needed.
I founded Oio Lab in 2018. Anna Bobkowska, PhD, joined me and now leads our scientific team. Since then, our laboratory has continued to evolve, with new equipment, research projects and collaborations with academic and research institutions.
Today, we work with the latest active ingredients, develop proprietary solutions and are often among the first to bring them to market.

Curiosity
New ingredients, new extraction methods, new solutions.
Curiosity is where every formula begins.
In our laboratory, we analyse dozens of raw materials before selecting any for a formula. We often work directly with ingredient developers, studying their properties and exploring new ways to use them in skincare.
Only ingredients that meet our laboratory’s rigorous standards for quality and efficacy make it into our formulas.
Science
Scientific knowledge and research guide the development of every Oio Lab formula.
We collaborate with medical universities and independent research laboratories to study how ingredients work and assess the efficacy of the formulas we develop.
We verify product efficacy not only through consumer in-use testing, which captures participants’ experiences and observations, but above all through instrumental studies using specialised equipment to measure real changes in the skin with precision.
We publish the results on every product page, including specific measurement data.
Ingredients
Advanced botanical ingredients are the foundation of our formulas — but we are highly selective about which ones we use.
We have built our own database of more than 10,000 active ingredients from around the world. We analyse how they work and their potential applications in skincare.
We draw inspiration from the latest advances in skin science, including research into skin longevity, as well as from traditions of botanical medicine around the world.
We select only ingredients that pass a multi-stage evaluation process and whose effects are supported by research.
Independence
We continue to build Oio Lab independently, without external investors.
This allows us to make decisions about our formulas, ingredients and direction based on a long-term vision — not short-term trends.
We reinvest our profits in expanding our laboratory, advancing our research and exploring new active ingredients.
