Every Oio Lab formula is developed and produced in our own laboratory in Poland — from the first concept to the finished product. We combine advanced botanical ingredients with modern skin science and confirm efficacy through studies that measure real changes in the skin.
Scientific team
Behind every Oio Lab formula is a team of chemists and specialists.
We draw on laboratory experience and expertise in skin biology, biotechnology and formula efficacy assessment.
Since 2018, our laboratory has been led by Anna Bobkowska, PhD, Director of Research and Development.
Under her leadership, we have built a growing database of more than 10,000 ingredients. We use it to analyse ingredient properties and develop new formulas. She also developed our proprietary preservation system based exclusively on ingredients of natural origin.
For selected projects, we collaborate with academic and research institutions, including the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin and Poznań University of Life Sciences.
How an Oio Lab formula is developed
Every Oio Lab product goes through four stages — from ingredient analysis to the final formula.
INGREDIENT ANALYSIS
We seek out, analyse and combine active ingredients.
We draw on the latest advances in skin science and traditions of botanical medicine, while exploring emerging areas of research, including the skin microbiome, the effects of hormones and light on the skin, epigenetics and longevity science.
We are often among the first laboratories to work with new technologies and innovative raw materials. We also develop proprietary ingredient complexes at Oio Lab.
FORMULA DEVELOPMENT
We develop successive versions of each formula, testing different concentrations and ingredient combinations until we achieve the highest possible levels of efficacy and comfort in use.
Every ingredient in our formulas has a purpose — we apply our own ingredient selection criteria that go well beyond EU regulatory requirements.
Some projects go through more than 100 formula versions — our record is 151 iterations while developing a new product category.
EFFICACY STUDIES
We assess formula efficacy primarily through instrumental studies using specialised equipment. This allows us to precisely measure real changes in skin parameters such as hydration, smoothness and density.
We also conduct consumer in-use testing with participants across different age groups and with different skin needs, including those with sensitive skin.
For selected ingredients or formulas, we collaborate with independent research institutions.
We publish the results on every product page, including specific measurement data.
Final formula
We produce every formula in our laboratory in Poland, maintaining full control over the entire process.
This means every stage — from formula development to production — is overseen by our team.

Technologies and ingredients
Our formulas combine advanced botanical ingredients with modern technologies.
Advanced active ingredients
We use next-generation active ingredients such as RejuveNAD™, which supports NAD⁺ levels in skin cells. NAD⁺ is a molecule central to skin cell regeneration and longevity.
Exclusive botanical technologies
We work with advanced botanical technologies exclusive to Oio Lab — such as ultra-pure ozonated omega-3, -6 and -9 monoesters derived from Polish cold-pressed flaxseed oil and saturated with active ozone.
Proprietary ingredient complexes
We develop proprietary active ingredient complexes in our laboratory, such as Oio Lab Cell Revive Complex™, inspired by longevity science and cellular metabolism.
Formula stability
We use violet biophotonic glass to help protect ingredients from light and preserve their activity. Our proprietary preservation system is based exclusively on ingredients of natural origin.
